The completed road pavement

On December 13th 2021, a grand completion and opening ceremony was held for the upgrading project of Road N14, section between Ruaca and Montepuez which was constructed by CJIC. H.E. President of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi attended the ceremony, cut the ribbon and unveiled the nameplate.

Nyusi expressed that the opening of the whole Road N14 terminated the history without any roads from the Province of Niassa straight to Cabo Delgado. It would accelerate the exchanges of people in the two provinces and commercial logistics, play a crucial role in the agricultural and mineral development along the line, and contribute to the improvement of the local people’s living condition and promote the economic growth of the two provinces.

Nyusi personally drove to feel the road condition in the ceremony. He said that the section was the most satisfying one with the best quality and smoothness compared to the roads for which he recently attended the completion and ribbon-cutting ceremony. H.E. President, on behalf of the government of Mozambique, extended the appreciation to the whole Mozambican and Chinese staff for the high-quality and efficient implementation and the prompt handover of the project under the negative influence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

From now on, the travel time between Ruaca and Montepuez will be reduced from more than 7 hours to about 90 minutes.
